Hello,

New on this forum and about cron jobs.
I need your help about on how to setup a cron job on my server.
I have to run on a regular basis a .cgi script but not able to write the proper command to get it running.
My server has a front-end panel that allows to set up comfortably the timing avoiding to enter specific Unix synthax, but however requires to write a command line that I don't know...
I tried up with the full path for the script but unsucessfully...

So I don't know what else to try up?

The output sent to me says "/bin/sh: the path I entered No such file/directory."

Please, could anyone help me to come out?

Thanks so much in advance

Sincerely

Hi,

Welcome to JavaRanch!

First, a bit of business: you may not have read our naming policy on the way in. It requires that you use a full, real (sounding) first and last name for your display name. Obviously fake names based on your question aren't OK. You can change your display name here. Thanks!

Take a look at Automatically Running Unattended Programs or Setting up Cronjobs from Andy's Unix FAQ.

Use the full path to your script to run it. In addition, anything referenced in your script needs to have full path refereneced.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
