very much new to linux.

for project sake need to work on linux especially on "java.net"

need assistance in terms of resources

First of all, choose your distro. I personally recommend Ubuntu. It's easy to use and installing Java (including the IDE, glassfish, etc) is very easy. You just need to use synaptic to install all those things. Thanks to the power of Debian

You can also try Fedora, but I don't like it so much since it bloats your OS with some unnecessary applications and it's a bit unstable sometimes.

Don't forget to learn some Linux commands as well as bash scripting.
