Key Skills: 5+ years of experience in commercial software engineering.
Expertise in Java, with 3+ years Java server experience, particularly in large, multi-tiered, high volume systems, various J2EE APIs, distributed and scalable systems, JUnit.

Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications for Stores, Merchandising and related functions. Segment and design system layers to support componentized and layered application development, including user interface, business functionality, and database access.
Work with other engineers, managers, Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles.
Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes.
Must be able to independently design, code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes.
* Share release management duties on feature rollouts, share on-call responsibilities
* Develop industry and product technical expertise.


Experience and Skill Requirements



5+ years of experience in commercial software engineering.
Expertise in Java, with 3+ years Java server experience, particularly in large, multi-tiered, high volume systems, various J2EE APIs, distributed and scalable systems, JUnit.
Developing RDBMS applications (Oracle, PL/SQL desired), including logical database design, SQL.
Knowledge of web application development, HTTP protocol.
Expertise in Object Oriented Design and Programming, Design Patterns.
Experience in developing and supporting a product or web-site over multiple release lifecycles.
Experience with structured software development process.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Experience and Skills:
Led software projects, guided other engineers.
Web application development, particularly for a high volume site.
E-Commerce and/or B2B Commerce application development experience.
Experience with C++.
Experience with XML Schema design, XSLT.
Experience with WebSphere
Must have recent Web enabled Java/RDBMS experience
