Greeting!

I am using Gateway MX6440 Laptop with a modem AC97 Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP and Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter for the wifi, running Windows XP Pro. And I am planning to switch to PCLinuxOS or Ubuntu. But some of my concerns are setting up my modem for dial-up connection, as well as my wifi connectivity.

How can I set this up in my computer?

Your dial up should work right out of the box with either distribution. Your Broadcom card may be a bit of a bother to set up. The support forums for both distributions already have extensive support dedicated to setting up the BroadCom card, so that would probably be the best place to look.
