on ubuntu, using both firefox and opera, its weird when scrolling, all of a sudden i am sent back to a page from history. it doesn't happen all the time and i am yet to find a pattern. but it does happen every now and then. or could it be in my touchpad/mouse settings...
any clues..

I had exactly the same problem. In my case it was because of my laptop's touch pad. I didn't bother changing anything though. Once you get used to it, it stops happening.

think i got it for firefox. if you enable autoscrolling it would go away. its a middle-click thing.
