The Senior Programmer Analyst is an individual performer within a development team, who is responsible for designing and building components of a scalable, secure web-based application. The Senior Programmer Analyst works under the mentorship of the Manager, Application Development to design and construct
Java application components.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participant in requirements gathering sessions with our product development partners. Developing use cases, static and dynamic object models that document requirements and designs of our applications. Developing and maintaining Java applications,
Servlets, EJB�s, and JSP�s for the site. Ensuring designs and code are fully documented. Ensuring cleanliness and optimization of Java code within the site.
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years commercial web development.
Knowledge of UML.
Experience with object modeling tools (preferably TogetherJ).
Java programming experience (Servlets, Java Beans,
JSP) and object oriented programming.
Knowledge of XML and XSLT. Development on UNIX platforms, preferably using Solaris, BEA Weblogic and Oracle. Very high personal standards with regard to structured and commented code. Healthcare application experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
35% Leads and coordinates the technical development activities of small to moderate size projects with general direction from the project manager and/or manager.
35% Develops, tests, debugs, maintains, and documents moderately complex to extremely complex components of information systems applications.
10% Creates and/or reviews assigned product/project deliverables for small to moderate size projects (i.e., impact assessments, external and internal specifications, code, manuals, education material, installation material, estimating project tasks, status reporting, issue resolution, etc.)
10% Creates and reviews
unit, integration, system, and/or QA test plans/scripts; executes tests; analyzes the results.
5% Leads design reviews and code reviews/inspections for assigned projects.
5% Provides technical leadership to project team members, clients and vendors regarding technical issues.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Education: B. S. in Computer Science or related technical field.
Certification/License: Sun Certified Java Programmer (
SCJP) preferred. Applicable programming and analysis certifications desired/required depending on position
