As a Senior Java Developer, you will perform software development activities under minimal supervision on medium to large size projects involving multiple languages (primarily Java), products, and/or platforms. The Senior Java Developer position requires six to nine years of experience in application design, software development, technical product support, or consulting with high levels of expertise and skill in one or more programming languages.
Candidates for the Senior Java Developer position must:
Be able to obtain a secret level clearance to work on department of Defense projects.
Have a minimum of 5 years experience working in the role of a software developer in a mid-to-large size corporation.
Have a strong knowledge of Java, J2SE, J2EE,
JSP,
Servlets,
JDBC, Swing, XML, XSL, UNIX, Windows, Oracle, and SQL Server
Have experience with middleware including J2EE application servers and distributed application brokers
Have knowledge of and/or experience with Service-Oriented Architecture and Web Services (strongly desired.)
Have experience designing applications, systems, and components using methodologies such as Rational Unified Process (RUP), Agile Development, etc. (Experience with Agile Methodology or Extreme Programming strongly desired)
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Be willing to travel up to 20%.
