I am looking for the J2EE 1.3 RI and I found this link:

http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.3/download.html#sdk

This URL only contains ones for Windoze, Linux, and Solaris... Since OS X is Unix, could I download the Linux or Solaris versions, and expect it to run correctly?

With thanks,

See J2EE 1.3 on Mac OS X. The quick answer is that Sun does not provide a Java VM for the Mac, but Apple does. It comes preinstalled with the OS.

I e-mailed Kathy Sierra, personally, and she responded and stated that the one for linux would work on OS X. She stated that its not native and will work... Kathy also said that she uses linux version on OS X. She stated that once you download it, its just a matter of setting up the system environmental variables.

All the best,

Unnsse
