Is it recommended to install WebLogic 8.1, on a G4 PowerBook which runs at 1.5 GHz and has 1 GB DDR SDRAM?

I am going to try to install WebLogic and Oracle 10g onto my PowerBook... Was wondering if anyone has the same type of computer and experienced problems (from the lack of RAM)....

Many, many thanks!

I haven't used either of those applications, but I've run similar programs and servers (e.g. Tomcat and PostgreSQL) on much less powerful machines without difficulty.

Thanks for the feedback, Bear...

While I did consider HSQL, MySQL, and Postgre, one thing I took into consideration is that the entire world is using WebLogic & Oracle 10g....

Has anyone installed these applications on Mac OS X? Would it slow a machine, like mine's, down?

With love, peace, and happiness

I guess we live on different worlds. No one I know would touch Weblogic.

In any case, my point was not to try to get you to use different apps, but to point out that similar apps run just fine on a much less powerful machine. Which leads me to believe that you wouldn't have any issues running the apps of your choice on your, more powerful, machine.
