Hi there!

I'm totally new to Mac. I made the step! But now, I want to develop on my new Mac. I forget almost everything about Unix, so it's quite hard for me to make Tomcat work on my new system. I know how to do it on a PC running Windowz. Could anybody help me?

Where to find good info? Learning Mac, Unix...

Installing and running Tomcat 5.5.17 for a unix/Mac newbie...

Thanks a lot in advance!

Welcome to JavaRanch, and congratulations on the switch to Mac!

First, bookmark the Apache Tomcat main page.

On this page, you will find links for "Problems?", including this FAQ. Now, since the FAQ has topics for "Windows" and "Linux/Unix" and "Other Operating Systems," you might expect Mac setup to be under "Unix" or "Other." But no, it's under the "How To" link. From there, a couple of clicks will bring you to this TomcatOnMacOS page, which is what I used to get Tomcat up and running on Mac.
