Yahoo Messenger logging out in OS-X

Recently I started using Yahoo Messenger (yeah I know, welcome to the 21st century...) and I find it keeps exiting for some reason. Not when I'm actively using it, so far, but after 10-20 minutes of disuse, it logs out for some reason. Is there a timeout setting that I haven't located yet? The same problem occurs whether I use the latest stable version of Messenger, 2.5.3, or the 3.whatever beta. The beta at least logs back in automatically after logging out, but it's annoying. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions about what's going on here, or how to fix it? Yahoo's documentation / help facilities seem remarkably crappy at answering my questions here. If it matters, I'm running OS-X 10.4 on a PowerBook G4. No fancy new Intel chips for me just yet. Thanks...

As far as I can tell, that's just how they coded it. I poked around but couldn't find a setting for it either.

Thanks, Bear. So does that mean you too get logged off too if Messenger is inactive a while? Does this match the experience of other Mac users here? My GF doesn't experience this, but she's running OSX 10.3 rather than 10.4. Might be some other configuration issue or software interaction, I suppose.

Yes. I don't use it very often so I don't have a feel for how long before it logs out.

Tick check! Okay, I guess that was just an itch. Oh wait! Just a tiny ad:
