I inherited, for free, a PowerMac G4 400MHz from work. I am using it for a few things, but it is just a little bit too slow to be pleasant to use.

I already put in 768M memory (eBay, 4 GBP), an 80G disk (a whopping 35 GBP) and a fast USB (eBay, 1 GBP). The original 20G disk is still there, as the system disk, with user files on the new disk. I am wondering if there are any other cheap and easy upgrades that might squeeze a wee bit more "go" out of it.

You may be able to upgrade the processor, though that might not be what you consider cheap. And it's getting harder to find parts. Talk to your local Mac repair shop.
