How about an option that does only one thing to the OS X UI...

makes all the scroll bars a bit wider for easy grabbing!

Spot false dilemmas now, ask me how!
(If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much room.)

You know there's that two-finger gesture you can use for scrolling up and down, left and right... I feel crippled when I'm working on a system that doesn't have those gestures.

obviously not an option on non-laptops,
and yes, i use it quite a bit,

control-scroll wheel will zoom in,
perhaps that's an option?
