Hello friends,
I need to execute a third party dos program using java script. Is it possible with client or server side java scripting? I would appreciate your response on this.

Are you trying to execute a dos program that is on the server or the clients machine. If it is on the client's you are going to have problems because of the obvious reason of who has the program, where did the install it, and I don't even think js can do that on the client side.
If it is on the server, then you would need server side, but I have never done serverside javascripting. I would use cgi or java or a com object to do it in that case, but do some research on serverside js to get your answer. It probably can be done through js on the server, but I have never tried.
Good luck
Bill

Hey ramvi, we have a naming policy here at the ranch and your name doesn't abide to the rules. Could you please re-register with a more appropriate name. Check out more info here: http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks Bill for your reply. I need to run only on server side. Let me investigate further into this. Regarding my name, i will register again .
