Job Description: This is a full-time position with Binary Consulting, Inc. supporting the Transportation Coordinators� Automated Information for Movements System (TC-AIMS II) program; a joint system that falls within the DoD mission area of mobility and transportation of DoD passengers and cargo in peace and war. It provides unit mobility and installation transportation officers throughout the DoD with a single, effective and efficient system to perform transportation management for movement of units and day-to-day cargo within the Defense Transportation System (DTS).
The incumbent will employ Windows API, SQL, and Transact SQL to write utilities to configure Windows and applications running on Windows in C. Write Transact-SQL scripts to build, configure, and modify data and database structure. Write and edit JAVA code to use and manage meta-data for medium-to-complex file and database data transfers. Create and edit database schemas for metadata. Write JAVA-to-C and C++-to-JAVA JNI code. Administer SYBASE database. Build high-performance, reliable, systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment. Deliver mission-critical projects in C\C++ using high-end transaction systems and relational databases. Provide development life-cycle support, OO Analysis/OO Design. Structured and Script Languages. Unit/Integration Testing. System Integration/Migration. Use InstallShield and/or JAVA.
Required Skills: Experience with software product support in a COM environment, to include:
. Working with Java for at least 3-4 years on a full-time basis, involving at least 3-4 Java-related projects of mid scale (4-5 developers, min 6-month duration)or large scale (7+ developers, min 1 yr duration).
. Familiarity with OO concepts such as polymorphysm, inheritance, etc.
. Familiar with UML and CASE tools.
. Familiarity with source code control tools such as PVCS, Clearcase, CVS, etc.
. Familiarity with client-server, 2-tier, 3-tier, N-tier architecture models
. Familiarity with XML related technology such as XML DTD, XML Schema, DOM and SAX parsers, XML transformation (XSLT).
. Familiarity with variety of Java-related technology such as Java servlets, Java Server Pages (JSP), Java SWING
. Familiarity with at least one Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as JBuilder, Eclipse, etc.
. Familiarity with well-known Web servers and application servers such as Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat, BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere, Jboss, etc.
. Familiarity with at least one major database such as Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase and understand basic data modeling.
. Familiarity with important technologies such as Interprocess Communication, Networking, HTTP, EDI, Security, web, etc.
. Experience leading a team of at least 3-4 developers. Able to single-handedly carry a project from conception to production if required.
. Interpersonal communication skills, verbal and writing skills, etc. are also very important. Knowledge of geospatial and map graphics tools such as ArcGIS is desireable.
