I need to create an instance of a program to be able to open it from javasript. How can I do this.

Hmmm. What kind of program do you wish to open? Is it in Java? Perhaps you can use an applet? It's hard to answer your question without anymore info. Could you develop a plug-in perhaps to use your program?
