G.1440 Open Position: Junior/Mid-level Java Job in Columbia, Maryland

G.1440 provides IT professional services and IT consulting & staffing services to over 600 clients nationwide. We employ top-tier technology talent in challenging positions both in-house at G.1440�s Baltimore-based Professional Services Division and remotely at client sites.

One of G.1440�s clients, a large, well-known company in Columbia is searching for a Java Developer.

Job Type: Full time perm placement

Salary: up to 75k

Our client is looking for a Java Developer to join an existing team. This is a large, stable company with excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:
�Develop, design, and unit testing of JAVA/J2EE applications.
�Participate in code and design reviews.
�Performs code merge, development daily builds in development and test environments.
�Write unit test cases using JUNIT.
�Write database stored procedures, queries, and functions in Oracle. Write Design documents.
�N-tier Web application development using JAVA, JSP, and SERVLETS.
Requirements:
�Undergraduate degree in Computer Science.
�Experience with any version of UNIX, UNIX Scripting, PL/SQL, Oracle 9 is highly preferred.
�Experience with CVS is highly preferred. CVS administration, branching, and merging skills are highly preferred.
�Integration experience in a multi-tiered environment involving Java/J2EE and Microsoft .net technologies is nice to have.
�Understanding of big picture architecture and design is nice to have.
�General understanding of Clustering, load balancing, highly available J2EE applications is preferred.
�Experience with Weblogic, Websphere, and JBOSS application servers is highly preferred.
�Experience in troubleshooting J2EE applications in a production environment, JVM troubleshooting, Debugging the applications, Performance monitoring, and tuning is preferred.
�Experience or understanding of CMM or CMMI is nice to have.
�Experience with application monitoring tools like Sitescope and IDEs like JBUILDER, ECLIPSE is nice to have.
�Should be proactive and must have good communication skills.
�Should be detail and task oriented and be willing to commit to the deadlines.
�Must be a good team player.
�Must be familiar with testing methodologies, SDLC, and Source code management practices.
�Object modeling and Object oriented analysis and Design experience using any tools like Rational or together J is nice to have.
