records per page using javascript

i have a resultset object stored in vector which is being displayed on page. Is it possible that i am able to display x records on first page, next x on next page and remaining on next page using javascript. ie i want to have NEXT and PREVIOUS link, but these link should do all the validation/processing on the client side.
if sb. has the idea please let me know.
