Google is looking for experienced engineers with an in-depth knowledge of logs processing, databases and OLAP technologies to enhance Google's understanding of key markets, including advertising and software distribution. The Technical Solutions Engineers analysis of current Internet trends will help us achieve Google's mission by developing strong partnerships. Technical Solutions Engineers also work closely with Sales, Product, and Finance teams to evaluate opportunities in emerging markets.
Requirements: �Minimum of a BA/BS Computer Science or related technical degree (MSCS preferred). �5+ years industry experience with database, OLAP and visualization software. �Mastery of a scripting language like Python, Perl or PHP. �Experience programming software in C/C++ or Java. �Familiarity with open-source software packages under UNIX or GNU/Linux. �Hands-on experience in UNIX or GNU/Linux system administration and shell scripting. �Extremely strong analytical skills. �Outstanding oral and written communication skills for non-technical audiences, including spreadsheet and presentation skills. �Ability to integrate and interpret data from diverse sources to make recommendations and find solutions. �Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated multitasking ability. �Must be proactive, self-directed, detailed, and organized. �Must be able to learn quickly and get the job done in a high-visibility, high stress situation.
