parent form reload?

I have a page that has an Add button. On clicking that, a child window opens with form. When the child window form is submitted by the user the (child)window should close and the parent form should be reloaded with what ever i inputted in the child window.
How would you set this up?

It looks more like javascript problem, as you would like to handle it on the browser end only(for performance reason).
Are you interested in JSP level solution? (although javascript will still be there)

on the onload of the pop up you can use this:
window.opener.document.FormName.ElementName.value = document.FormNamePop.ElementNamePop.value;
