css-position absolute problem

I have two columns aligned side by side.

Below that i need a footer. But the footer is going at the top of the screen


this is my css which I am using to align the columns



What should i do to fix this?
any help appreciated.

You have a problem in the CSS: flaot:right;

look at the source code on this page: http://www.pmob.co.uk/temp/2column_simple_1.htm

It might give you an idea

Thanks.

In fact i looked at some sample css but I couldnt figure out what I am missing in my css.
I also removed float but still doing the same weird stuff which is driving me crazy

You did not have to remove the float, it was spelled wrong.

Change your absolute positioning to relative.

when I change the position to relative it didnt align.One goes above another. for the float element i corrected the spelling didnt help.

I am working blind without seeing the html code.
