Is there any way to remove (set to -1) the tab index from the URL address window in my browser? I've set tabindex to "-1" for all of my form elements except for the one I want, but the user can still tab between the URL window in the address bar.

Any ideas?

Hmmm... that's not the warm, fuzzy answer I was hoping for!

Elaine,
What are you trying to accomplish? Maybe there is another way to do it.

My app is run from a hand-held device, which also has a bar-code scanner. When the user scans something in, the device prepends a tab, in order to get the cursor into the input field. This works perfectly when the page is first loaded, but if the user clicks on something else on the page, then the tab order gets off. It's incredibly kludgey, I know - I'm pretty much stuck with the equipment & how it works... Thanks for your interest!

Not sure since never coded for a handheld (will be doing that in upcoming months) but pop up windows can remove the toolbars so they are not visible.
