browser tries to open file of type .rar

Hello all,

i am running a webapplication based on struts on a local tomcat server

The browser tries to open the following link in the browser :

This results in all strange characters in the browser window and not me downloading the file. is this because of the fact i run this on the server or another reason. Perhaps then this question has to be placed in a different forum.

That usually means that someone or something set the browser to open that type of file.

What you should do is find that type of file on your computer. Right click on the file, Open With, Choose Program, find the rar program, make sure to check the box that says always use this program.

I think that might do it, not positive though.
