Hey Java geeks. I am new to java and want a sipmle script to do a simple thing. I want to have words in a scentence be links that open up a picture in a seperate window. ok so I am using this:

a class=small onlick=window.open('/images/funny/bigone.jpg','','width=500,height=370,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,location=no,menubar=no,toolbar=no,top=0,left=0')
href="javascript:void(0)">w00t

and it works fine but seems to be alot to enter if I want lots of words in the paragraph to be links....so I guess my question is how to I make it so this would call a function of some sort so there is less to type in..does that make sense?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think you want Javascript, not Java. There is a Javascript forum here also.

How does this relate to Java? Are you using a JSP page (or Velocity template) to generate the HTML (and JavaScript)? If not, as Steven pointed out, it probably belongs in the JavaScript forum. Even if you are generating JavaScript using JSPs, it might still be better to post this question in that forum.

Hi,

Welcome to JavaRanch!

First, a bit of business: you may not have read our naming policy on the way in. It requires that you use a full, real (sounding) first and last name for your display name. Handles and joke names don't work here. You can change your display name
here.
Thanks.

Our HTML and JavaScript forum is here. I will move this post there for you.
