Why the actual size of the text field showing in the browser is larger than that of specified? For example, in the INPUT tag, I set both the SIZE and the MAXLENGTH parameters to 1. The size of the text field in the browser is larger than 1. Although I cannot type in more than 1 character in that text field. Is there any way of showing the size as specified?

You have to remember that each character on your keyboard has a different size too. You can use the style width property to set the size you want.
