If you start a topic and are the only one who replies to them you are capable of deleting the topic...is that a glitch?

If you start a topic, you can delete it no matter who posts responses to it.

I consider it a design flaw in the software we use - but it is intentional on the part of the designers.

cindy, i tried deleting a topic i started with other people responding to it and it didn't work. hmmmmm. As for the glitch being a design flaw, I think it's kindof nice to have a little control over your own topic.

I just tried it, and verified that I could delete a topic I started, even if others had posted to the topic. I used a different (non-sheriff) account, so I'm pretty sure this power is available to anyone. Not sure what happened when you tried, Conrad. I consider it a flaw because, although it's nice for the thread creator, I don't think it's really fair to the other contributors to a thread if the creator decides to delete the whole thread. He should be able to close the thread, OK, so that if others want to continue they must start new threads. And he should be able to edit or even delete his own posts. (And yes, UBB does support all these options.) But it seems wrong to me that he should have the power to delete other people's posts. People put time and effort into creating those posts - why should they lose that because the original poster changed his mind?

On re-reading your original post, I see I missed the point that the only replies were from you, the origianl poster. In that case no, I don't think it's a design flaw - you should be able to delete your own work. But I don't think you should be able to delete the work of others, period.
