how to make two Div display in same line ?

hi, i initially put 1 button say named btn_1 using align=left and 2 buttons using align=right as following

   < button > btn1 < /button >
< /td > 
 
< td align=right> 
   < button > btn1 < /button >
   < button > btn1 < /button >
< /td > 
 

but somehow it make the page unnecessary extend longer horizontal size,
so i try using div , but the problem is when i use

< divalign=left > 
   < button > btn1 < /button >
< /td > 
 
< div align=right> 
   < button > btn1 < /button >
   < button > btn1 < /button >
< /td > 
 

it give me left side button in higher position and right side pull down 1 line but in right side , how can i make it happen into same line ...thank you for guidance
