Title: Oracle DBA/Linux System Administrator

Seeking a candidate with the right mix of Oracle database administration and UNIX/Linux systems administration experience. Candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Development and Quality Assurance departments in Bangalore, and Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. As well as provide production off hours support for maintenance processes. Candidate will have experience performing Oracle RDBMS software installations on the Red Hat Linux AS/ES platform, building databases using the DBCA as well as from scripts, performing imports/exports and object user maintenance.

Responsibilities
Installation of Oracle RDBMS software while adhering to standard operating procedures.
Installation of Red Hat Linux AS/ES on the x86 platform, while adhering to standard operating procedures.
Installation of Apache, Tomcat, Oracle 9iAS OC4J in a Linux environment as well as MySQL applications.
Provide support for applying patches and upgrades to RH AS/ES and Oracle RDBMS.
Provide troubleshooting and end user support for Oracle RDBMS and RH AS/ES.
Troubleshoot and fix hardware and software problems as they occur.
Troubleshoot and fix network problems as they occur.
Build Oracle databases according to operational standards, using both DBCA and scripts
Perform import/export operations on Oracle databases for data refreshes
Perform user/object maintenance, space management and performance tuning on Oracle DB�s
Assist developers with SQL tuning, schema changes and object maintenance to include tables, views, indexes, synonyms, packages, procedures, triggers and functions.
Implement change controls to include
Ensure highest security standards are met on all systems and applications.
Coordinate with senior staff to improve and maintain technical standards of the environment.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills useful for us
2-3 years hands on experience with building servers, installing and patching Linux and Oracle RDBMS versions 9i and 10g, installing Apache, Tomcat and Oracle 9iAS OC4J.
Need to have a good understanding or running Oracle in a Linux environment
B.E/B.Tech/MCA or related technical discipline is preferred.
Should be familiar with the following technologies:

�Oracle Enterprise Manager
�SQL*Plus
�Shell Scripting
�Oracle IMP/EXP
Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring that commitments and timetables are met.
Ability to partner with internal stakeholders to design operational solutions.
Strong understanding of complex technical products.
Ability to troubleshoot complex OS, database and application issues.
