Hi All,
I have the problem like:

Basically, I have a jsp which I want the user to click on a button then open a dialog for user input that lists information from the database.(the user has to select data that is listed only.) the dialog box (it has dropdown list) is populated with data from database dynamically. once user submit the dialog, its should be closed.
Thanks in advence

It wouldn't be just a dialogue. It would be a window, rather than a dialogue. You need to send the request to a JSP/Servlet and get a JSP page loaded, as a response, in a new window.

Well, now if you want to close the window on submit then you can use a javascript function window.close(), I guess.

This is more about the HTML and Javascript to do this than JSP, so moved to the HTML forum.
