A leading provider of software web-based applications and data management services to the global travel industry has an opening for a Sr. Java Developer.

The company, which has been in business for over a decade, is financially sound, mature, and of significant size and resources. Almost half of the company's products are industry "firsts". They maintain a broad portfolio of services developed to be compatible with all global distribution systems. They have six product suites and 20 web based business tools including Document Delivery, Decision Support, Group Reporting, Profile Management, E-Ticket Tracking and Calendar Integration Suite. The company's products are effectively at work in hundreds of locations worldwide, including all top ten agencies in the industry and a significant number of Fortune 500 companies. The company's products are marketed and supported in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. They also have plans to expand to the Asia Pacific region in the future.

The selected candidate will be the lead and technical advisor for all major projects. Plan and complete assigned projects, participate in project plan meetings, product design meetings, log all activities in development tracking software. Responsible for development and maintenance current and new projects from ground level. Design & code software components and applications to implement functionality defined by detailed technical requirements, architectural designs & guidelines & methodologies. This individual must have an in-depth knowledge of software development processes and standards (requiments definition, design, implementation and testing.) A preferred candidate has a masters degree with five or more years of experience with the required skills listed.

Must be a self starter and willing to work in a fast paced environment, work well alone as well as part of a team.

Required Skills:

Qualified applicants must possess 5-7 years intensive experience developing in Java, including experience with JSP, Servlets, JDBC, STRUTS, J2EE, RULES ENGINE, JUNIT, and WEB SERVICES. Preferred experience with Tomcat and Apache web/application servers and SQL database.

Non-Tech Skills:

Self starter and willing to work in a fast paced environment.
