Java Application Support Engineers - Contract - Denver

Innovar Group has an immediate need for three Application Support Engineers for a valued client in the Denver Tech Center. (6 month contract with the possibility of going perm)

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for second level support for application issues including problem analysis, resolution, escalation, security, and reporting in client's applications.

Monitors and follows up with customers on open issues to insure accurate and timely resolutions are provided.

Communicates problem issues with other application support analysts, IT groups, and external vendors to troubleshoot system problems and resolve application issues.

Uses judgment in escalating unresolved issues and communicates status to customer.

Provide after hours on call support as scheduled.

Performs minor enhancements, maintenance and administration of supported applications.

Performs data queries, reviews code, coordinates testing, delivers new software releases, trains users and provides documentation.

Works on small development projects.

Continually seeks to improve technical skills as they relate to all areas of the support organization.

Detail Capacity to work across groups / good interpersonal skills.

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills .

Experience with application support processes and problem resolution in a production environment.

Demonstrates good analytical skills by identifying process issues.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent listening skills.

High level of patience, empathy and courtesy are required to deal with customers and their problems.

Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of various factors.

Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.

Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems.

Ability to take business needs and develop technical requirements.

Ability to coordinate work activities with other members of the support staff and the end-user.

Ability to pro-actively identify areas of opportunity and work to finding solutions.

Increases technical skills and programming language knowledge.

Develops processes and procedures for support issues, releases, testing, change management and communication.

REQUIRED SKILLS: JAVA, J2EE, Weblogic highly desired

EDUCATION: BA degree or equivalent experience
