Hi all

I have a performance issue in javascript resulting in hanging of the browser . I have a table with 500 rows (with each row having a single checkbox) and at the top of the table , i have one global checkbox which on clicking this will alternatively turn the 500 checkboxes on and off .........

But the problem is this task of switching the 500 check boxes takes some 30 sec and when the user clicks on the GLOBAL CHECK BOX for multiple times , the browser hangs because of multiple events getting fired

Can any one let me know how to avoid this ?? Is there any way to run a thread as soon as the operation starts by showing a dialog saying (Performing the opeartion wait .....) and as soon as that operation is done , i can close that window

Any better solutions will be appreciated

place a div or span in the area of the checkbox and add a message in it before you start the process of changing the checkbox state. After it is done, remove the message. You could also try disabling the checkbox until it is done in the same manner.

The glass is neither half full or half empty. It is too big. But this tiny ad is just right:
