I am trying to fix somebody's web page.

I can see each row has four columns (i.e. <td>).

The first column outputs a text: TargetLocation:
The second column outputs a HTML text field.
The third column outputs a text: Examine Date:
The fourth column outputs a HTML text field.

I cannot see why there is such a large space between the second column and the third column. Could it be somethings controls the width of the third column? At least, I cannot spot it. Please help. Here is the code:

Is the extra space actually between the columns? or just padded at the end of the 2nd? Big difference between the two.

Is the rest of the table markup well-formed?

Are there stylesheet rules that could be affecting the display of the table?
