I'm not sure wether i can post this here.
I'm maintaining a share point website in our intranet. Presently we have Six following tabs in it

1. Home - tells about the project, Team members, Book marks
2. Discussion forum - Mainframe and Java
3. Reference material - This has links to our project docs
4. Events - This has all the calendar events
5. FAQ abot our project

Can any ony tell me how can I further improve this site to be more informative. Our team has java perl & main frame resources

hi srini,

What kind of suggestions are looking for, whether it is about more link or how to make this site more engaging with the user.

If u want it to be more engaging, then u can try out with providing refrence materials in diff. format to the user

Widely used formats are

Flash Content

Always, make ur navigation system or links relevant. Here once again what u can do is subdivide the refrence material section into many like Case Study, Code Snippets etc.

Also, u can introduce an e-news letter for people who are interested in hearing from ur people on a regular basis.

In that , u can post a link about updated new contents in ur site and all other stuff.

I hope this is enough as for as the site information is concerned.

Saikiran Madhavan, JavaRanch is a community of people from all over the world, many of who are not native English speakers. While using abbreviations like "u" instead of spelling out "you" is convenient when text messaging your friends on a cell phone or in a chat room, it presents an extra challenge to those that are already struggling with English. Additionally, such shortcuts may confound automated translation tools that patrons of the Ranch may be making use of.

I would like to ask for your help in making the content of JavaRanch a little easier to read for everybody that visits here by not using such abbreviations.

Please read this for more information.
