Hi,

Is it possible to change the onFocus attribute of a textfield using javascipt. Please have a look at the code, it expalins what im trying to acheive. Im trying to do something using JSF i dont want to make use of readonly attribute

Once the button is clicked , i want the textfield to be editable. Any help on this is appretiated !

Why don't you use the disabled attribute?

thanks for the reply.. Im trying to acheive something through JSF, if i use the readonly or disable attribute, its not working. so the only workaround i can think of is the way i explained above. Is it not possible ?

yeah, you would just have to set the onblur event handler to something else (return true) before you set focus.
