Hi,

I guess more than asking for one "perfect" book, a manageable reading list is probably in order. I have looked at previous posts and David Flanagan's The Definite Guide seems to be an overwhelming favourite. However, a lot of people seem to think that this book is 1)not ideal for beginners and 2)not current.

I am a relative newbie, working for just over a year, doing mostly java programming. However, I have started to do quite a bit of J2EE stuff and it looks like I will soon be involved in doing a lot of JSP / JavaScript and probably AJAX.

My (in?)experience with JavaScript till now has been writing simple validation and form-field manoevering. I'm interested in a book(s) that is easy and quick to learn from, as well as being a good reference.

Thanks a lot guys
