No, you can't. The code posted above will
NOT execute as a result of invoking the test() Javascript function. Rather, it will have executed on the server long before the page was even sent to the browserr.

In order to effect server-side activity as a result of client-side action, you either need to submit the page or use Ajax to initiate a server request.
