Hi,
I wanted to display the value inside a text box with strike, similer to the HTML tag <strike>this is striked</strike>.

Is this possible using HTML or javascript or any other way in a web page.

Thanks
Abhinand

"Abhinand",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!
Eric

All of the text would have to be striked out

Hi,

Thanks for the solution.

i have one more requirement. i want to display values in text field in 2 styles.
i want to display two words in the text field, one word should be striked and the other should be displayed as normal.
eg: if i have "abc" and "xyz" to be displayed in the text field, i want "abc" to be striked and "xyz" as normal.

Is this possible. Also is it possible if i have more than two values and i want some selected words to be displayed with a strike.

Thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for the information.
I will try to change my requirement and display the values in two different fields.

Thanks,

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
