I havent read the AJAX in Action book, but have seen some good reviews about the same. How is this book different compared to AJAX in Action? Is it just the approach which is different in this book or are the examples more advanced and more practical?
Yes, I'd say the topics that we cover in 'Ajax in Practice' are more practical and moree advanced than those in 'Ajax in Action'. Ajax has been moving rapidly since 2005. There are more toolkits available, which we make use of in the book, but there's more to it than that. The easy issues in Ajax have been solved, and people have grappled with more advanced issues in designing Ajax apps that really work. We wanted to capture some of that experience in this book (and I think we succeeded!).
