Java Portal Architect Job Description:
TEKsystems is partnering with a local client seeking a Java Architect for an enterprise wide portal development initiative. This enterprise architect will work with portal development project teams across the organization to develop standards for web based applications and middleware. Through design discussion and mentoring, the enterprise architect will focus on the optimal way for each project team to develop an application solution in keeping with sound architectural principals and consistent with the governing enterprise architectural strategy.
Our client is an industry leader and Fortune 100 company that consistently utilizes the latest technologies to enhance their business objectives. They are currently expanding their development team to support several major development initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities Will Include:
~Helping project teams make the best decisions about how to structure their applications
~Reviewing development team code to ensure best practices are followed
~Providing guidance for development teams on how to modularize their application into cohesive, reusable services
~Helping development teams get started with portlet development and guiding them through the project life-cycle
~Reusing and extending common portal and portlet development frameworks to meet varying needs of different projects
~Identifying application functionalities which can be reused between disparate applications and mitigating reinvention of the wheel
~Maintaining comprehensive architectural and developer documentation
