text field drop down list

i have created a form with ajax and xml having a text field. while entering an alphabet it should drop down all the entities,(starting with that alphabet) of particular column of database.
its working fine. but while entering 'f' its not displaying anything even there are entities starting with 'f' in database..

is there any specific notable reason behind this?

could you please anyone help me in this?

Are you returning text? are you returning xml?

If you want more help, you need to give us more stuff to go off on. We have no clue what your arichtecture is and what is happening.

Could you answer this:
"when you read this question: I have a system that is gaining memory can you tell me where my leak is?" I doubt it since it has no facts, examples, pointers to help back up the point.

Since I have nothing to really go off on, I have this advice:
You need to learn how to debug. Is the request making it to the server? Is the request coming back from the server? Ar you getting any errors?

Download Firefox and install the Firebug plugin. [http://www.getFirebug.com] It will allow you to see your XMLHttpRequests and see what is bieng returned from the server. You can also step through your JavaScript code.
