I remember reading somewhere that .gif files can be made with transparent backgrounds. That is, if the .gif image is covering another image, only the part of the .gif image that is not the background covers the other image. The part of the .gif file that is background (usually white) essentially disappears. Do you know what I mean?
So I tried placing a certain .gif image so that it covers something else, and the white background covers the other image too. Is it because the .gif file happens to be the kind of file that doesn't have a disappearing background? Or should I put something inside the IMG tag?
