Nicknames on Javaranch

while going through the various posts on Javaranch, I saw that
a lot of visitors/newbies use single word nicknames. Then one
of the moderators has to warn the person concerned of your
naming convention.
Wouldnt it be easier if you have some kind of validation while
signup which will warn/prevent new users about this rule?
The sheriffs will be free to do other things rather than be
burdaned with this chore.

That has been mentioned quite a few times and various solutions have been suggested. Right now because of the ubb software used they would have to do a hack of the code to get that functionality.
As I understand there is a new version due out soon that may make that easier to do. And if not, it is still better to wait until after the upgrade to do the modifications than to have to do them twice.
