Java Software Engineer
Scope
Implement and optimize portable multimedia Java 2 MicroEdition (J2ME) client framework
Develop rich J2ME clients and integrate with web services and media servers
Supervise a growing team of J2ME developers
Define and track project plan and software deliverables
Supervise QA, scalability
testing, porting, code reviews and software acceptance
Requirements
BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
3 or more years experience in embedded software development
Demonstrated expertise in Embedded Java Development
Proven success managing a team of software engineers
Proficiency in C/C++ development on General Purpose Processors
Understanding of Product Lifecycle Processes
Working knowledge of software configuration management tools
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications - experience in any of the following areas:
Embedded RTOS's such as Symbian, WindowsCE, Nucleus, pSOS, micro-ITRON, or embedded Linux
J2ME Configurations and Profiles, such as CLDC, MIDP and associated Java Spec Requests (JSRs)
Streaming protocols such as RTP, RTSP
Session protocols such as SIP
Multimedia file formats (AVI, MP4, ASF) and transport protocols
Experience managing offshore development resources
