Ajax what framework should i choose ?

I am working with portlets in a websphere aplication server, my company want too look at ajax, ibm has its framework called dojo, but i have heard that spring is better, is there somebody there have any idea, what i shcould start looking at ?

dojo is not part of IBM, IBM is just a sponsor of it.

There are hundreds of frameworks and toolkits out there. What do you want? Do you one one that just helps in making Ajax calls to the server? Do you want one that gives you rich elements?
