Web Application Contract Position Description
We are a new startup company focused on developing applications for the Corporate HR space. We are looking for development talent to assist us in drawing on Web 2.0 technologies to build the next generation applications for this market segment. Specifically, we are looking for several developers willing to work initially on a contract basis who has the experience and interest in creating new web applications using emerging technologies.
The initial contract length is 6 - 8 months which may lead to longer term employment.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the early stage design and development of an enterprise application based on an AJAX/JBoss Seam/EJB3 framework.
* Build new AJAX components within an existing framework.
* Be an integral part of the small development team, able to work collaboratively or completely independently as needed.
* Work very closely with all areas of the company � Sales, Technical staff, Executives.
* Write clear, comprehensible documentation for engineering as well as less-technical guides for non-engineering internal users.
Requirements:
* 3 years or more Software Development experience
* Direct experience in building
J2EE applications
* Experience with common open-source frameworks and tools.
* Professional approach to coding, revision-control, and QA interactions.
* Experience with mission-critical, Production-grade develop/test/release cycles.
* Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills.
* Experience with AJAX, DHTML,
JSF and EJB technologies.
* Database design experience.
* Familiarity with Apache/Tomcat/JBOSS server environments
* BA/BS in Computer Science or Engineering or the equivalent
*** Must be capable of working on site in Redwood City
Desirable Skills:
* Working knowledge
JBoss, Seam, JSF, Hibernate, AJAX, Eclipse
IDE.
* Hands on experience with Model-View-Controller paradigm.
* Knowledge and experience with XML technologies.
* Experience with internationalization of Web sites.
* Sense of visual design/UI skills.
