Wimba, Inc., the leader in web-based collaboration software designed for online education, language learning and live interactive communications, is currently looking for a Senior Java/J2EE Software Architect for our Research & Development team. This position is located in the New York Office and reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
Responsibilities:
�Project work that enables students and instructors to communicate and collaborate across different institutions using instant messaging, voice over IP as well as a variety of learning tools
�Solidify architecture team for Kiwi platform
�Assist in the synchronization between development teams in the Sophia Antipolis and New York offices
�Provide technical leadership to staff in both the New York and French offices in the field of
J2EE architecture, scalability and application security
Requirements:
�4 or more years of experience in J2EE development and/or architecture
�Experience in complex data modeling, scalable designs & security
�Experience with the following technologies, frameworks and/or projects:
oSpring
oJSF
oMaven 2
oHibernate
oTomcat
oJBoss
�Experience with e-learning applications, content management systems and instant messaging a plus
�English fluency; French a plus
�BS or MS education level in Computer Science
�Excellent written and verbal communication skills
