DCD usage

I want to know how to use DCD with an Xml file?
What are the advantages using DCD?
Can I have a good example of DCD along with an xml file?
Where exactly the DCD is used?

DCD is Document Content Description -- meant for validating the data inside an xml file.Please let me know how to use the DCD inside an xml file..if you can.
