Thompson Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a
Java Software Engineer with our client, a leader in its industry with global / international presence, located in Alpharetta.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop,
test, document and support range of customers on the developed software.
Closely work with the Technical Lead and/or Business Analyst to keep them informed on status and to deliver software per the requirements of the customer.
Follow company and project standards for source code documentation and development tools.
Production of development estimates.
Prepare detailed designs and design documentation.
Work with configuration management standards.
Evaluate and use third-party class libraries.
Requirements:
5 years or more of overall experience in software development
2 years or more of solid server-side Java experience
Experience developing with at least some of the following Java technologies is a requirement:
o Java Database Connectivity (
JDBC)
o JavaBeans
o
J2EE o Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB)
o Java
Servlet o Java Server Pages (
JSP)
o XML / XSL / XSLT / XPATH /
SOAP o J2EE application servers
o CVS
Strong knowledge and experience developing systems using structured software life-cycle design and development methodologies.
Desirable Certifications: Sun Certified Java Programmer, Sun Certified Java Developer
Knowledge of
JBoss and Oracle preferred
Familiarity with the travel industry and their associated systems/technologies would be beneficial
Bachelors Degree, MBA preferred
Willingness to travel when needed
