Perhaps a generic term used to describe a software that allows you to view an XML file. There are quite a view such programs ( Checkout www.xmlsoftware.com ) with features ranging from plain text display with syntax highlighting to expanding/collapsing nodes and editing the document with on-the-fly validation.
